A MAN who died following a crash outside West Midland Safari Park has been named.

Kirk Busby died after being struck by a Mercedes Sprinter van on the A456 Kidderminster Road at around 4.50am on Monday (January 29).

Mr Busby, aged 36, from Kidderminster, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was arrested yesterday and police are continuing to investigate and appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The A456 was closed between Bewdley and Sutton Park Road in Kidderminster whilst the emergency services worked at the scene, reopening around 9.20am.

West Mercia Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who saw Kirk walking from the general direction of Bewdley towards Kidderminster.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 51s of 29 January.

A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection to the incident and has since been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
