A KIDDERMINSTER man has been charged in relation to a car-jacking that took place in South Staffordshire.

Stephen Loveridge, of Wilton Avenue, has been charged with robbery, two counts of affray, two counts of fraud and attempted theft of a motor vehicle.

The 24-year-old has been remanded in custody by South Staffordshire Police.

The charges are related to an armed robbery of a car which took place on Dimmingsdale Road, near Lower Penn, at around 1.30pm on Monday, January 29.

Loveridge is the second man to face charges in relation to the incident.

Stephen Morgan, aged 18, of Clee Road, Dudley, has been charged with robbery, two counts of affray, four counts of fraud by false representation, driving without insurance, driving while disqualified and making off without making payment.

Inspector Richard Meaden Local Policing Team Commander South Staffordshire said: “This is a great result and it was only a matter of time before we caught up with the outstanding offender.

“I’d like to thank the local community for their support during this investigation and remind residents that fortunately these type of offences are a rare occurrence in South Staffordshire.”
