WYRE Forest residents are being encouraged to have a 'cuppa for KEMP' to help raise money for the charity.

The Kidderminster based charity want locals to host events from tea parties to cake sales throughout March, to bring people together for a good cause.

Community members have already been taking part in this initiative.

Walton and Hipkiss Estate Agents in Kidderminster is hosting a cake sale and charity raffle with Mayor of Kidderminster, Councillor Nicky Gale, attending the event. This will be held on Thursday March 1.

On the same date, Cleobury Dental Practice will be hosting a raffle featuring donated prizes from the Elms Hotel and Ludlow MP Phillip Dunne. They will also host a bake-off competition from 10am, to be judged by a local councillor.

KEMP Hospice Community Fundraiser Elisabeth Smith said: “It’s amazing that local businesses like Walton & Hipkiss and Cleobury Dental Practice are hosting ‘Cuppa For KEMP events.’

"They will be kicking off a month of fundraising for us and they are so fantastic to give up their time to help support us here at KEMP.”

The hospice is committed to deliver care services free of charge, carried out by a skilled clinical team. Fundraising activity will contribute to the £1,000,000 they need to support people with life-limiting illnesses.

Elisabeth Smith added: “Anyone that wants to put on a ‘Cuppa For KEMP’ is welcome to do so whenever they want but if they want to host one in March that would be fantastic!

"We can help them source raffle prizes and posters or charity boxes and all they have to do is get in touch with me.”

Individuals and groups who would like to organise their own ‘Cuppa For KEMP’ event can contact Elisabeth directly on 01562 756000 or email fundraising@kemphospice.org.uk.
