COMMUNITY-spirited Vegans are hosting a special festival for a good cause.

The Running Horse pub Inn, Bewdley, is holding a day of vegan-friendly food, drink and entertainment with the help of Wyre Forest Vegans in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The first-time festival will take place this Bank Holiday Monday (May 28) from 12-5pm and will feature stalls from the local community, environmental and animal rescue groups, arts and crafts, children's activities and live music.

Visitors can also enjoy free vegan food samples, recipe booklets, cakes, and an extended vegan menu at the pub.

Ronald Lee, Coordinator of Wyre Forest Vegans said: “We are delighted that a local pub has decided to stage a vegan festival, and even better for it to be a fundraiser for a very good cause.

“It is yet further evidence of the popularity of veganism, with an estimated 6,000 people in the Wyre Forest area having gone vegan within the past two years, and I’m sure the festival will be a thoroughly enjoyable event.

Entry to the festival is free, but voluntary donations to Macmillan are encouraged.
