WYRE Forest Labour are putting up the bunting to mark 70 years of the National Health Service with a street-stall celebration.

The street-stall will be outside Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday July 7 from 11am to 1.30pm, with past and current NHS workers invited to come along.

The group plan to present workers in attendance with a special birthday card at 1.30, signed by members of the public to pay thanks for their care work dedication.

The birthday card was chosen following a nationwide online competition.

Labour want to honour the healthcare system that was first established in 1948 under Clement Attlee’s Labour government.

Stephen Brown, Wyre Forest Labour said: “The NHS is Labour’s proudest achievement.

“We cherish the way it puts people first and supports us at every stage of our lives, but we need to work together to ensure it serves us for generations to come.”
