WYRE Forest Vegans are lending their support to an animal protection charity who save bears from cruelty at a quiz night fundraiser.
The event, which is in aid of the international group Animals Asia, will take place on Thursday August 2 from 7.30pm at St Ambrose Parish Centre in Leswell Street, Kidderminster, and will also feature an all-you-can-eat vegan buffet.
Wyre Forest Vegans Co-ordinator, Ronald Lee, said: “Animals Asia work to end the barbaric bear bile trade, which sees over 10,000 bears kept in appalling conditions on bile farms in China and Vietnam, and they have rescued over 500 bears, who are cared for in their award-winning sanctuaries.
“They also campaign in the Far East to stop the trade in dogs and cats for food, for an end to cruelty in zoos and safari parks, and to improve the welfare of companion animals.
“That’s why, as a group that believes in compassion towards all animals, we are very pleased to be staging this Quiz Night to raise funds for them.
“The event is open to all members of the public, and we hope both vegans and non-vegans will attend.”
Tickets for the quiz night cost £10 and can be booked by emailing quiznight@wyreforestvegans.org or by calling 07780 653962.
