SENIOR judges will hear a challenge by former English Defence League (EDL) leader Tommy Robinson against his 13-month jail term for contempt of court.

Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, was locked up in May after he filmed people involved in a criminal trial and broadcast the footage on social media.

The footage, lasting around an hour, was watched 250,000 times within hours of being posted on Facebook.

HUNDREDS of victims of the Mandalay Bay massacre in Las Vegas have been sued by the hotel’s owner in a bid to avoid liability.

MGM Resorts argued in lawsuits filed in Nevada, California, New York and other states that it has “no liability of any kind” to survivors or families of victims under a law enacted after the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The lawsuits target victims who have sued the company and voluntarily dismissed their claims or have threatened to sue.
