BEWDLEY Horticultural Society are preparing for their annual summer show of gardening expertise to delight enthusiasts and families.

The summer show will be held at St George’s Hall, Bewdley on August 18 and will host classes where members can display their gardening skills by showcasing their prized flowers, vegetables and fruits for guests and judges to behold.

Judges will criticise entrant's vegetables and other produce following the strict criteria of the Royal Horticultural Society, examining the gardening skills of the hardworking hopefuls.

Domestic arts categories will feature at the show, with cake, jam, bread and homemade lemonade classes, as well as a handicraft section, and photographic and art section.

There will be a range of free child activities to encourage youngsters to get creative.

People also have the opportunity to buy plants and take part in a tombola.

The show is open from 10:30am to 3pm, where the Mayor of Bewdley Roger Coleman will present prizes to the winners.

Following this presentation there will be an auction of the day's produce to finish.
