BOSS Neil MacFarlane has hailed the way Kidderminster's substitutes have already given him food for thought this season.

Harriers fought back to share the spoils against Ashton United on Saturday to make it three draws from their first three National League North fixtures.

Despite falling behind early in the game and then being hit with a second half red card for Dan Bradley, Reds still hit back will goals from Joel Taylor, Ash Cambers and Kane Richards to make it 3-3 late on.

Taylor and Richards both came off the bench to score and highlight Harriers' options.

MacFarlane said: "The substitutes have all made an impact and I really do have options. It's great that they are all pushing so hard.

"Against Ashton all of the substitutes did really well. Ed Williams got man of the match, Joel Taylor and Kane Richards both scored.

"I only make the changes but it's up to the players to make sure they have an impact when called upon.

"We also made a little tactical change at half time and the players adapted to that as well, so everyone is showing that we are flexible and are able to put the team before themselves. It bodes well moving forwards."

The manager has also praised the attitude of his squad following their battling displays so far.

They had been due to take on Chester away on Tuesday night but the game has now been moved to next Tuesday after flood damage at the ground.

Harriers will now return to action when Darlington visit Aggborough this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

MacFarlane added: "It was frustrating not to play (on Tuesday), especially after the way we finished the previous game, but we'll go again this Saturday.

"We want to keep our unbeaten run going now but we want to do that by winning.

"I can't fault their endeavour and application at all and the spirit we have forged is already clear to see.

"They are working so hard for each other and we just need to marry together the different aspects we have shown.

"Even though we have conceded a few I don't think that has been down to a lack of organisation. It is just about cutting out individual errors.

"One thing's for sure, we are a very exciting side going forwards and I have real confidence that we're going to score goals when we attack.

"The most pleasing aspect about the Ashton game was the way we fought back.

"The fans were outstanding at the end of the game and hopefully they can see they have a team that is giving everything for them."
