DESTINATION Worcestershire staff are celebrating a cracker of a pre-Christmas marketing campaign, which attracted thousands of hits to its website from tourists across the country.

The organisation, which promotes the county as a tourist destination, launched its Christmas in Worcestershire campaign last month and has been delighted by the response.

The campaign was designed to raise the profile of the wide range of festive activities taking place in Worcestershire this Christmas, encouraging local people with visiting friends and relatives to get out and about and visitors to explore the county.

Rod Nipper, manager of Destination Worcestershire, said: "We really are thrilled by the response to the campaign.

"We have had very positive feedback from several of the featured attractions and, in November alone, we received in excess of 2,500 hits to the campaign website and almost 700 people entered the online prize draw.

"Entries were received from across the UK, including Manchester, Liverpool, London, Bristol and Cardiff. This proves that Worcestershire and the many fabulous festive events taking place throughout the county have a wide-ranging appeal."

Website visitors were given the opportunity to bag prizes in the free prize draw, including a family pass to West Midland Safari Park.
