Hospital benefits from fun night

6:53pm Thursday 10th April 2008

PARTY animals can put their glad rags on and head to Kidderminster Town Hall to enjoy a night of live music in aid of Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Mamma Mia will be among the acts at tomorrow night's bash.

The Abba tribute band has thrilled audiences in Dubai, Germany, Cyprus and Switzerland.

The group was named Tribute Band of the Year in 2000/2001.

Two magicians are set to dazzle the audience with tricks galore, while 70s rock band, Ballroom Glitz, add a touch of glamour to the show.

They will perform the full length version of Queen's classic Bohemian Rhapsody.

The Amateurs are also on the bill and will perform their own material.

The four-piece band has had a sell-out performance at the Glee Club, Birmingham, and secured support slots with The Guillemots and Jack Savoretti. Event organiser, Justin Exeley, said: "I want to raise money for the hospital because my godson was diagnosed with leukaemia two years ago.

"He had to go to Birmingham Children's Hospital for his treatment."

He added: "If all the tickets sell, the night will pull in £10,000.

"I'm looking forward to it. It should be a good night."

The event kicks off at 8pm.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall, or by contacting Mr Exeley on 01562 744467.
