Car stolen from Kidderminster car park

A DISTINCTIVE car worth £5,000 which was a gift to the owner from her late husband has been stolen from a Kidderminster car park leaving her "devastated."

It was taken after the car keys were stolen from a locker at the Wyre Forest Glades leisure centre, in Bromsgrove Street, Kidderminster, between 11am and 12.15pm on Tuesday.

The owner, Anne Gittus, was in an exercise class at the time of the incident.

The offender took the black Honda Prelude while it was parked opposite the leisure centre.

The vehicle had 42 Tasmanian Devil toys in it, including a beanbag and stuffed toys.

It was a Japanese import and had square registration plates rather than the usual oblong plates.

It had the private registration number C1 NNE, and the name Anne in silver stick on letters on the right hand side above the registration plate.

The vehicle also had a metal Institute of Advanced Motorists tax disc holder.

Also taken from the locker were a turquoise rucksack containing clothing and a Nokia mobile phone worth £300.

Mrs Gittus' handbag, containing her purse with £180 cash in, her driving licence and personal items, had been in the boot of the car, along with the vehicle's original registration plates, M519 RCY.

She said: "My husband, who only died three months ago, had bought me the car. It meant everything to me and I'm devastated at its loss.

"He had also bought me the collection of Tasmanian Devil toys.

"The phone which was stolen used to be his, and it had photos of him on it and his friends' contact details, so it irreplaceable."
