POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a driver was seriously injured in a road accident in Stourport.

It took place in Wilden Lane at about 1am on Sunday, June 15 and is thought to have involved only one vehicle, a black Citroen Saxo, which left the road and overturned in a field near to Marsh Farm.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s from Kidderminster, was taken by ambulance to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with serious spinal injuries and is currently still at the hospital in a serious but stable condition. No-one else was in the vehicle.

Police would like to hear from anyone who either witnessed the incident or has any information about it. Witnesses should contact Sgt Carl Paskin on 08457 444888.
