MORE readers have contacted the Shuttle/Times & News to report sightings of strange lights in the sky over Bewdley.

We made an appeal for information yesterday after Bewdley resident, Mick Insull, told us he saw up to 60 orange lights move across the sky for about 15 minutes between 10.30pm and 11pm on Saturday.

Hayley Howard and her family, of Bewdley, had a similar experience. “They were unexplainable,” she said, “I guessed they may have been some kind of UFO, as there have been sightings recently across the country. I am glad it wasn't just us that saw them.

“They were not Chinese lanterns, as they would have a candle flickering and you would be able to tell.”

Chinese lanterns are often used at firework displays and have been blamed for some suspected UFO sightings in recent years. After they are lit, the lanterns float into the air and across the sky like balloons.

Julia Whale, of Bewdley, said: “The sight was amazing but a bit weird. The lights seemed to be travelling at the same speed, without a sound. All the lights appeared to be the same brightness.

“I thought, if they were planes or helicopters, they would have a brighter white headlight, with flashing warning lights on the sides, but this was not the case.”
