NURSERY children in Kidderminster met police puppy, Ellie, and were given a talk about stranger danger when they popped into the town’s police station yesterday.

Staff, parents and children from Deerhurst Day Nursery made the visit to the Wyre Forest district headquarters in Habberley Road during a morning walkabout in the sunshine.

They were welcomed by PC Pip Crafts and introduced to spaniel, Ellie, who will be trained up as a sniffer dog. Then the children were given a talk by community support officers, Kate Easthope and Derya Mustafa.

The youngsters left with smiles on their faces after being given balloons and goody bags to take home as a memento of their visit.
