Six bans driver facing jail

2:13pm Friday 29th August 2008

A NOTORIOUS motorist caught driving while banned six times has been warned he faces "a substantial" jail term.

Job Clarke, 39, of Lorne Street, Kidderminster, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and driving uninsured.

He denied breaching a community order of 300 hours unpaid work, claiming he had a sick note to cover non-attendance.

Judge Andrew Geddes adjourned the case to next Friday for the probation service to give evidence about the alleged breach.

Bailing Clarke, the judge said: "You are going to prison and almost certainly are facing a substantial sentence."

He said if the breach was proven, a suspended jail sentence hanging over Clarke would also be activated.

Worcester Crown Court was told by prosecutor Kate Iliffe that Clarke had five previous convictions for driving while banned.
