A COMMUNITY group near Stourport will discuss ways for residents to become more sustainable and less reliant on fossil fuels.
The Friends of Bishops Wood will meet at Worcestershire County Council’s Bishops Wood Centre, in the grounds of the National Grid sub-station at Crossway Green, on Thursday, September 18, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
John Rhymer, head of the centre, said: “Local groups and congregations can play a pivotal role in helping bring about change and local sustainability both among their own members and in their local community.
“We hope that as many people as possible will come along and join us for this meeting.”
The meeting will involve John Iles, who is a regeneration consultant, an active member of Bewdley Baptist Church and a director of Bewdley Development Trust.
Mr Iles will give a short introduction, speaking of his involvement in a project with Marches Energy Agency, as part of the Grow with Wyre programme, which is helping Bewdley, Callow Hill and Pound Green to become low carbon communities.
Roger Cook, a consultant with Penmark Limited and formerly the principal planning and performance officer at Worcestershire County Council, will run the workshop.
People can reserve a place by calling 01299 250513 or emailing jrhymer@worcestershire.gov.uk.
