A VAN was caught in rising water during last night's downpours in Wyre Forest but there were no reports of injury.
Two fire crews, one from Kidderminster and the other from Stourport, were called to Dick Brook, on the A451 Dunley road out of Stourport at 7.15pm last night.
A Volkswagen transporter van was trapped as water levels had risen but the firefighters did not have to take action as the situation was under control by the time they got there.
Kidderminster Fire Station watch manager, Mick Rowlands, said flood warning signs had been put out at the site but some drivers approaching the scene as they were there were not heeding them, despite the risk posed by the higher level of water across the road.
The Environment Agency had posted flood watches on Dick, Mor, Borle and Dowles brooks as the rain fell.
Drivers in Abberley abandoned their cars as roads became impassable.
