Two injured in gang attack

A GANG of youths attacked two men in Kidderminster last night, leaving one with serious head and facial injuries.

The assault took place at the junction of Gilbert Scott Way and Radford Avenue, at about 8.30pm.

A 35-year-old man was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital and later transferred to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry with serious injuries.

A 33-year-old man was taken to the Minor Injuries Unit at Kidderminster Hospital with facial injuries and was released after treatment.

Det Insp Dean Jones, of Kidderminster CID, said: “We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, including anyone who was in the area at the relevant time, to contact us on 0300 333 3000 or ring Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.”

The road was closed overnight but has now been reopened.
