Oil spill causes problems on busy Kidderminster island

A DIESEL oil spillage on a busy Kidderminster roundabout caused drivers to lose control and skid across the road this morning.

Tailbacks stretched from the Worcester Road island at about about 7.30am as traffic built up.

Highways officials were called to the scene to help clear the road and one lane was closed until about 9am.

Julia Jones, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said: “A few cars lost control when they were driving down the road but there were no reported injuries or collisions.”

It is not known how the spillage happened.
