A £200 XPRESSION grant will help rising Kidderminster golf star Emily Hyde avoid the bunkers in her fledgling career.

The 14-year-old is highly rated by Worcestershire’s coaches after featuring heavily in the county ladies’ and girls’ teams.

The cash boost will help to play for 20 extra lessons over the course of 12 months for the teenager.

Baxter College student Emily, has been honing her skills at The Russell Adams Golf Academy.

The Bewdley Pines Golf Club member, whose handicap is 10, also works with Worcestershire coach Kevin Hayward at Kings Norton GC.

Mother Alison Hyde said: “The grant is a big boost as it helps to play for extra lessons.

“Emily competes across the country, but it’s always good to know that she can call on extra help and guidance when she needs it.”
