THIS morning I left two charity bags on my front drive ready to be collected by Kidney Research UK.

As I was returning from walking my dog a white van pulled up and a man got out and started to put the bags into the van.

I noticed that there were different charity bags in the van so I asked for identification or authorisation.

He was unable to produce any and it appeared that he did not fully understand what I was asking (he did not sound british).

I asked him to return the bags – which he did and then jumped back into the van and he and his companion drove off.

So please warn your readers that if they want to give to charity they need to be very careful about the way they do it.
