BISHOPS Wood Centre, Crossway Green, is opening its doors to families to explore it and participate in seasonal crafts.

They can enjoy the Christmas Wildlife Trail and learn about the links between Christmas folklore and the wildlife of Bishops Wood.

Inside the award winning centre, children will be able to make edible decorations to hang on the trees and feed the birds in winter plus decorations from natural materials that they can take home with them.

John Rhymer, head of the centre, said: "The Christmas Trail was so popular last year that we have decided to repeat it.

“Children and their parents enjoyed exploring our site, looking for clues which relate to the plants and animals which live here.

"Some of our Christmas traditions and their links with the environment originated back in Roman times and before."

The centre will be open to families on Sunday, between 2pm and 4pm.
