ARCHERY: Bill Bell was crowned champion in the compound bow section at the Worcester County and West Midlands Archery Championships.
The event was hosted by the Wyre Forest Company of Archers at Arley and it was Kidderminster man Bell who took the honours.
He gained a master bowman's score of 1,168 points in his winning York round which comprised 72 arrows shot at 100 yards, 48 at 80 yards and 24 at 60 yards.
Bell, who shot a total of 144 arrows, has been involved in the sport for around 10 years.
The Wyre Forest Company of Archers runs beginners courses throughout the year and anyone interested in the group can call chairman Brian Wilkinson on 01886 812366 after 5pm.
