FIREFIGHTERS have just finished tackling a blaze on a railway embankment in Kidderminster's Rifle Range.
They were called out at 4.30pm to the fire, which had spread across an area of land about 200 metres squared.
Watch manager Mick Rowlands explained there had been fires in the same location before but the cause was not clear.
He said: "It could have been someone just carelessly discarding a cigarette, as it was near a footpath, or it could have been caused by a train.
"It's one of those things we will never be able to fathom."
