THE candidates for the contested parish council elections in Wyre Forest on May 27 have been announced.

These elections were pushed back due to the general election being held on the same day as the Wyre Forest District Council elections on Thursday (May 6).

The elections in Bewdley Town (East, West and Wribbenhall) and Upper Arley (Shatterford and Pound Green) will be held between 7am and 10pm.

Parish council elections that were scheduled for this year in Chaddesley Corbett, Kidderminster Foreign, Rushock, Stone and Upper Arley (Arley Village) were not contested.

For these parishes, the election date does not change from Thursday and the candidates will be declared elected unopposed.

The candidates in the contested elections are: Bewdley East: four councillors to be elected: Janette Adams, (Conservative), Roger Coleman (Conservative), Calne Edginton-White (Independent), Carol Gittins (Labour), Paul Gittins (Labour), Julie Keen (Independent Community and Health Concern), Jenny Knowles (Labour), Nigel Knowles (Labour), Julian Phillips (Conservative), Jason Rushgrove (Independent Community and Health Concern), Jackie Taylor (Independent Community and Health Concern), Albert Ward (Conservative).

Bewdley West: four councillors to be elected: Sam Arnold (Labour), Stephen Clee (Conservative), Louise Edginton (Independent), Richard Fletcher (Labour), Jennifer Greener (Conservative), Chris Jones (Labour), Gren Jones (Labour), Derek Killingworth (Independent Community and Health Concern), Sean McGahern (Conservative), Gordon Yarranton (Conservative).

Bewdley Wribbenhall: five councillors to be elected: Arthur Buckley (Conservative), Linda Candlin (Independent Community and Health Concern), Anne Cox (Conservative), Dean Cox (Labour), Liz Davies (Independent Community and Health Concern), John Foulkes (Conservative), Marcus Hart (Conservative), John Latham (Independent Community and Health Concern), Daniel McCann (Conservative), Barry McFarland (Labour), Caroline Shellie (Independent Community and Health Concern), Lee Wright (Labour), Roslyn Zalin (Labour), Tony Zalin (Labour).

Upper Arley Pound Green: three councillors to be elected: Arthur Cheadle, Edwin Gatehouse, Lesley Jackson (Independent), Godfrey Jones (Independent), Darren Smith (Independent), John Tweedale (Independent).

Upper Arley Shatterford: three councillors to be elected: Ellen Dale, Kendall Matty, Graham Rickhuss, Susan Rickhuss.
