A MEDIEVAL and Elizabethan manor house near Kidderminster has scooped an award for its heritage educational activities.

Workers at Harvington Hall picked up the Sandford Award after demonstrating it had an understanding of local and national heritage.

They also had to show awareness of the National Curriculum and that the educational programme had been developed through consultation with educational advisers.

Staff also demonstrated attention to good management and administration for school visits and that its educational resources and facilities would enhance the quality of the pupils’ visit.

Sherida Breeden, hall manager, said she was delighted the hall had scooped the award.

She added: “The award is a reflection of the hard work, professionalism and dedication of the volunteers who deliver the educational facilities at the hall.”

Meanwhile, the volunteers will be providing children’s summer activities at the hall every day in August. There will also be family friendly tours and arts and crafts activities.
