PUPILS of a Stourport primary school have seen their history class come to life with a themed day.

The reception class at St Wulstan’s Catholic Primary School have been learning about the medieval era and enjoyed a Medieval Day to celebrate their hard work.

All 30 children in the class attended and they dressed up as some of the characters they had studied, including queens, knights and Robin Hood.

They also learned about castles and the differences between life then and today.

The children spent the day making money pouches filled with chocolate coins to take home as souveniers and played medieval-themed games like jousting and Pass the Crown.

The winner of the game got to keep the crown and prizes of chocolate coins were also given out for the other activities.

Hannah Harison-Denby, reception class teacher, said: “We decided to have this party for the children to consolidate their learning over the past six weeks.

“St Wulstan’s strives to give children a positive and exciting education and I know my class had been counting down the sleeps to the day.”

Each class at the school has the opportunity to take part in a themed day but the Medieval Day was the first for this year’s reception class.
