CHILDREN from three Wyre Forest primary schools got together for a slice of the action at a pizza making day in Kidderminster.

About 75 pupils aged between seven and nine headed down to Frankie and Benny's to try their hand at pizza topping.

Class four of Hartlebury CE, Kestrel class of Wilden All Saints CE and Cedar class of St Bartholomews CE Primary Schools got into groups of four to finish off a 15 ins dough base with their choice of foods.

The pupils heard about the background of Frankie and Benny's and healthy eating before they donned chefs hats and aprons and got stuck in.

The day topped off the Trinity Project which saw the schools sharing resources and ideas throughout a week of educational activities.

Each year group had a different topic, with year three pupils focusing on food around the world, when they learnt about food from Mexico, India and Italy.

Teacher Emma Pugh, who led the Trinity Project at Hartlebury CE Primary School, said: “It was a brilliant day. The children really enjoyed it and the staff at Frankie and Benny's were superb. They all came away with a photo album, vouchers and an activity book.”

She added: “The project overall has been really successful. The children have had the confidence to share their ideas and experiences from the week when they got together.”
