STAFF and pupils at Burlish Park Primary School have been dusting off a clutch of awards at the start of the new term.

It has scooped a host of honours since it became a primary school in 2007, following Wyre Forest’s education shake-up.

Successes include leading awards for developing academic progress and community cohesion through the national Personal Health and Well-being programme (2010-2013), effective administration that ensures every child matters (2009-2012) and creativity in music (2011-2014).

The school also holds the Worcestershire Sharing Good Practice Mark 2010/2011 and gained Activemark status and the Artsmark Gold award in 2009. It scooped the Silver Eco-Schools and the gold standard of the Green Tree Award Scheme in 2009.

Burlish has also achieved healthy school status, the Primary Science Quality Mark and the National Leading Parent Partnership Award this year.
