A BEWDLEY salon has cut through the competition to scoop three hairdressing awards.

Garry Holloway and Sam Wakefield of KT’s Hairdressing in Load Street were winners at the Reflections Awards ceremony in Birmingham on Wednesday, April 18.

Mr Holloway picked up the Avant-garde and newcomer awards and Ms Wakefield won Level II colour, cut and style.

“I was in total shock,” said Mr Holloway, who is from Stourport. “Six months ago I was not doing hairdressing, it was a complete surprise but I love it, it was a great night.”

KT’s owner Kate Stanier said she was thrilled with the awards and praised her team.

“They have been dedicated and worked hard in preparing for the competition,” she said. “We enjoy what we do and I believe that helps to establish a very creative and inspiring atmosphere which brings out the best in everyone.”

The achievement came a month after the salon celebrated its 10th anniversary.

“It’s hard to believe we have been open for 10 years,” added Ms Stanier. “Thanks to our loyal customers we have expanded the business and now offer opportunities for local young people to train for a rewarding career in hair care.”
