Man jailed for Kidderminster restaurant attack
9:19am Monday 30th April 2012 in News
A 30-year-old man has been jailed for 16 months for an attack on another customer in a Polish restaurant in Kidderminster.
Worcester Crown Court was shown CCTV of Pawel Wykowski throwing beer at Darius Dobrzynski before hitting him on the back of the head with a glass.
Wykowski, of Pershore Road, Kidderminster, pleaded guilty to wounding at the Polonia restaurant in Comberton Hill on November 12 last year.
Stephen Davies, prosecuting, said there was "history" between the families and the defendant said he had been shown disrespect. His victim had three pieces of glass removed from his neck and it was fortunate the injury had not been more serious.
Charles Hobbs, defending, said Wykowski accepted he had a problem with his anger management but pointed out there had been only one blow. There had been no repitition of his conduct.
Recorder Jason Macadam described the incident as "a moment of madness" which would be regretted.
