Stourport pensioner denies sex charges
9:55am Wednesday 23rd May 2012 in News
A STOURPORT pensioner who had an illegal sexual relationship with his grown-up daughter also abused his 14-year-old grand-daughter, a jury was told.
He was sent digital images of the child by his daughter, showing her posing in nothing but a bra and pants and he would grope the teenager and tell her he was going to have intercourse with her, it was alleged.
But the pensioner became friendly with a couple who became suspicious of remarks he made during a barbecue. The grand-daughter later revealed to the couple what was happening inside her family, the jury heard. They alerted police.
The pensioner, now aged 70, denies four counts of sexual activity with a child family member, sex with an adult relative - his daughter - inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and possession of indecent photographs of a child.
His 47-year-old daughter pleads not guilty to sex with an adult relative - her father - and making indecent photographs of a child. The charges span the period January, 2008 to August, 2010.
The defendants, who cannot be named for legal reasons, first "fell into a sexual relationship" with each other when he was in his sixties and she was in her thirties, James Dunstan, prosecuting told Worcester Crown Court.
Emails and text messages recovered by police demonstrate the defendants were in a sexual relaionship together, said Mr Dunstan.
The pensioner admitted to police he had slept in his daughter's bed two or three times but claimed it was innocent. He said the picture of his grand-daughter was sent to show him the bra and pants bought with money he gave her for Christmas.
The daughter insisted they only had an intense platonic relationship.
The trial continues.
