BEWDLEY’S singing sensation, Becky Hill, has been tipped for super stardom despite not making the final of The Voice.

The 18-year-old bid a tearful farewell to the competiton after she was not saved by the public vote. She has returned home and is already working on big plans for her future in the music industry.

Her coach on the BBC1 singing contest, Jessie J predicted she would go global: “I have worked hard and she has worked harder and to be 18 and have this moment and this time and the vocal that she’s got... I just can’t wait to see her blossom into a worldwide super star,” she said.

Becky told The Shuttle: “Jessie always believed in me from day one and that’s made me believe in myself. I really want to continue working in music and have a successful career.”

She added: “I am going to get a bit of a plan in action. I want to find management and keep my head down for a few months. I’ve got The Voice tour in September so will be working on that over the summer and hopefully I’ll be recording my own songs.”

In Saturday night’s tension-charged semi final, Becky showed how much she had grown as an artist, by swapping her energetic power numbers for a spellbinding performance of Like A Star by Corinne Bailey Rae.

Coach Tom Jones said: “You surprised me tonight. You have a wonderful tone to your voice. I love it.”

Becky said she was looking forward to seeing family and friends and colleagues at the Cock and Magpie Pub and HR’s Bar in Bewdley.

She will sit her final A level exam in music technology at Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre before embarking on the rest of her journey.
