A WOLVERLEY couple whose granddaughter lost her father to cancer are hosting a charity bake sale, tombola and silent auction at their campsite.

Carol and Mike Aspery, who have run the Wolverley Camping and Caravanning Club Site for four years, are holding the events for their 10-year-old granddaughter Caitlin who lives in Coventry.

She came up with the ideas to raise money for Myton Hospice in her home town. Her father, Byron Curry, could not afford to go to before he died from brain tumours aged just 47.

The bake sale and tombola will be at the site at Brown Westhead Park, on Sunday June 3, from 11am.

The silent action will be held on Saturday, August 25 at 7.30pm with prizes from Bodenham Arboretum, Hartlebury Museum, West Midland Safari Park and Severn Valley Railway.

Anyone who can donate further prizes can call Mr and Mrs Aspery on 01562 850909 or email wolverley.site@thefriendlyclub.co.uk
