A SAFE containing a large amount of cash has been stolen from Kidderminster Harriers FC's social club.
Burglers broke into the club in Hoo Road by smashing their way through a wall into the bar area. It happened between 11.45pm on Saturday and 5am on yesterday.
The safe, measuring 3ft by 2ft was then carried from the premises along a gravel path leading to the rear car park where it is believed a vehicle was waiting.
PC Derya Mustafa said: “It is clear from marks on the path the thieves put the safe down several times while carrying it from the premises, probably because it was so heavy.
“They must have caused a fair amount of noise while doing that and also while breaking into the building.
“We would urge anyone who noticed or heard any suspicious activity around the club between the relevant times to contact us and in particular if they saw any vehicles parked there in unusual circumstances.
“Also, if you think you know who might have been responsible for this then please tell us.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Mustafa at Kidderminster Police Station on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident reference 33-N-170612, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
