Hundreds turn out for Kemp's Midnight Walk
WATERPROOFS and wellies together with bunny ears and sparkly hats were donned by hundreds of women who braved the rain for the fifth Kemp Hospice midnight walk.
Despite the weather, organisers said the atmosphere was “absolutely fantastic" at Saturday’s event.
Four hundred women joined in with the zumba and belly-dancing warm-up before putting their best feet forward for the five-mile walk around the Wyre Forest, which they completed in just under two hours.
Kate Wilkinson, events fund-raiser, said: ‘This is a really special event and each year it reinforces what a fantastic community we belong to.
“All the ladies were great company - joining in with different activities - and they were still smiling at the end despite being rather muddy.
“ We are so grateful to them for supporting and raising much needed funds for the Hospice.”
She added: “More than £20,000 was pledged in sponsorship and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the walkers, marshals, Forestry Commission and everyone who makes this walk so very special.”
