GREEN-fingered residents and businesses showed off their blossoming flowers and colourful displays for this year’s Bewdley in Bloom contest.

Judges went around the riverside town to pick winners in categories such as the best large and small private gardens, tub or vase and the best window box.

This year’s winners included The Hop Pole Inn, which scooped the top prize in the best pub/hotel section and the hanging basket category, while Bewdley Museum came first in the courtyard, corner or passageway class.

The Collier’s Arms impressed judges with it’s window box and it also came first in the shop front, commercial, club and church category, while Hilcroft Caravan Park won the group effort class.

Bewdley Primary School was voted the best school, while St Anne’s Primary School scooped the special reasons award for its colourful display on the school steps.

Individual winners included Mr and Mrs Quayle for their large private garden and Mrs Faulkner for her small garden.

The best vegetable garden went to Mr Hall, who also won the private outside front section and the best mobile home surround went to Mrs Deakin.
