First anniversary for Bewdley market

First anniversary: Bewdley market. First anniversary: Bewdley market.

BEWDLEY’s local produce market will be marking its first anniversary this weekend.

The Load Street market has doubled in size over the last year with stallholders selling goods such as meat, vegetables, pies, cakes, preserves, drinks and crafts.

It is held on the first Sunday of every month and focuses on local food and businesses as part of a wider initiative to encourage people to grow and buy local quality food.

Peter Miller, of Bewdley Development Trust, said: “We are pleased that the market has now become an established part of Bewdley’s calendar of events.

“We are always looking for opportunities to develop the range of quality local food and craft stalls on offer and would ask anybody interested to get in touch with us.”

Originally funded through the Grow with Wyre project, the market was established as part of its programme to support local sustainable rural businesses.”

People can get further information about the market by contacting the trust on 01299 405516 or emailing info@bewdley.org.uk.
