Reunited: Lisa Bill and her dog Angel.
A STOURPORT mother who was left heartbroken when her dog was stolen from her back garden has been reunited with the pet – thanks to The Shuttle.
Lisa Bill’s 11-month-old greyhound- lurcher cross, called Angel, was returned to her on Friday, September 7 – almost a week after it was taken – following a tip-off to the police by someone who had read her plight in The Shuttle.
The mother-of-four was reduced to tears when the dog was stolen from her back garden, on September 1 but is now smiling again since its return. The pet was found “safe and well” at a house in Kidderminster and police are still investigating the theft.
“I’m really happy to have the dog back,” said Miss Bill, of Vernon Road. “Someone tipped off the police after seeing the story in the paper.”
She added: “I wasn’t expecting to get her back. I was thinking ‘the longer this is going on my dog’s going to be gone’. I would just like to thank The Shuttle.
“She was scared when she came in and she’s gone really skinny. I don’t think she has been treated very nice but we’re all so pleased to have her back.”
CSO Shelley Wilcox, of Areley Kings and Lickhill local policing team, said: “We received a tip-off from a member of the public on Thursday suggesting they knew where the dog was and it was recovered the next day from a home in Kidderminster."
PC Julian Ward added: “We are still investigating how these people came to have the dog and would encourage anyone with information to call us on the non-emergency number 101.”
