Plans to revamp parking at Kidderminster Hospital

PAY and display could be axed at Kidderminster Hospital under plans to revamp parking at the site.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust say a full business plan outlining the changes will be drawn up in time for a board meeting on Wednesday, September 26.

According to the trust, the plans are in response to patient comments and could include replacing all pay and display areas with fast, reliable barrier and pay kiosk systems, allowing visitors to pay when they leave.

Plans also include increasing the amount of drop off points for visitors and changing the charging structure to allow visitors to pay by the hour. Currently, those parking at the hospital must pay for two-hour intervals.

Patients will be asked for their feedback and input into the plans and changes are expected to be made by the end of the year.

This nothing to do with it being cheaper to park,they have realised people risk not paying so as not to employ a warden someone figured out they can glean more profit by putting a barrier in,so don't pay you don't leave ,talk about robbing the ill,there will be the usual corporate spin it will be it taking money from front line services,they think were stupid not to see through it.

isn't this the same trust that is telling everyone that they need to make cuts and need to save millions then decide to spend money on redesigning carpark- of course barriers are very successful just look at tesco kidderminster!!!!!!!

Maybe as part of the business plan they'd like to ask how the new build surgery can have free parking. Should be easy to establish with colleagues being on the CCG. Listening to patients you'll discover they'd prefer to be cared for rather have to care about parking issues. The people of Wales know it makes sense.

It makes one wonder whether this is a con, asking us to believe that Worcester really believes that Kiddy Hospital could become Kiddy General Hosp as should be the case.
Why talk about parking, is this another 'sprat to catch a mackerel'?
If you believe Worcester will give us back our hospital, & return all the facilities that the people of Kiddy paid, we must be in 'cuckoo land.
Having said that, we must fight on, to hell with the problems Worcester Hospital brought on themselves!
