VISITORS at West Midland Safari Park are urged not to be late for the very important date on Sunday as a Mad Hatter's Tea Party will be taking place to raise money for cancer care.

Cakes, treats and characters from Alice in Wonderland will be at the Tree Tops Pavilion from 10am to 5pm.

The event is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign, which hopes to raise the funds for a dedicated breast unit at Worcestershire Royal hospital.

Organiser Sonya Knezovich said: "I can't believe that this event is now in it's fourth year and the response and support that we have received over the years has been overwhelming.

“Last year we raised a record sum of £2,000 and as always we have big plans to exceed this figure. We have had some great compliments about the event and I'm delighted that we are doing it all again.

“It's been great fun organising the theming and costumes this year and we're all looking forward to a super event for two charities that are very close to our hearts".
