Hair-raising: Victoria Roberts, who will be raising money for research into cancer.
A KIDDERMINSTER fund-raiser has come up with a hair-raising way to get people to raise cash for research into cancer.
Victoria Roberts, area volunteer manager for Cancer Research UK in the town, will be making her hair stand on end for national campaign Stand up To Cancer.
She has joined stars from television, music and film including TV presenter Davina McCall and actress Gwyneth Paltrow who are supporting the campaign - launched by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 - which aims to raise money to accelerate research into the disease.
Ms Roberts said roped in colleagues and hair stylist Sarah Russell to show that a little imagination can go a long way.
She said: “Making your hair stand on end is just one of the fun ways to join the fight and Stand Up To Cancer.”
She added: “People can make a donation or get sponsored to go to work with barnets like Jedward or Marge Simpson. And for those who are follicly challenged, there is always the option of sporting a spiky wig.”
People can get further information about the campaign and get involved at standuptocancer.org.uk.
