Guided walk in Bewdley
7:20am Saturday 6th October 2012 in News
WALKERS can join a guided stroll in Bewdley tomorrow.
The 4.5 mile walk will start at 11.30am at Gardeners Meadow Car Park and will finish in the Jubilee Gardens at 2pm.
The walk will explore Georgian Bewdley, Blackstone Riverside Park, the historic St Leonard's Church and Ribbesford Wood.
Rob Deri, senior projects and communities officer for Worcestershire County Council Countryside Access Team, said: "We're really looking forward to welcoming everyone on this exciting guided walk. On the route we will pass Ribbesford House, once home to the Free French Army under General de Gaulle during World War II.
“A particular favourite of mine on this walk is Ribbesford Wood, especially at this time of the year as the leaves are just staring to take on their Autumn colours.
“The wood is home to many species of fauna and flora including Fallow and Roe Deer. There are a few stiles along the route and one particularly steep section, so strong boots and waterproof coats are advisable."
