Soup-er event in Bewdley

BEWDLEY will become hot stuff when soup is dished up by the town’s eateries as they battle it out to win a trophy for their culinary creations.

Local cafes, restaurants and pubs will be dishing up their own soups made from fresh produce for visitors to sample and judge, during tomorrow's  soup trail.

It is the second time the event has been held in the town as part of its harvest fair.

Battling out for the soup trophy 2012 will be the The Woodcolliers Arms, Grannystap Victorian Tea Rooms, Pomodoro and Clementines Coffee.

The Little Packhorse, The Hop Pole Inn, Paisley Catering, The Mug House Inn and The Angry Chef Restaurant will also be taking part.

Neville Farmer, who organised the event with Chris Griffin of the Bewdley Development Trust, said: “This was a huge hit last year and we’re encouraged by the enthusiasm with which Bewdley’s superb chefs throw themselves into creating exciting recipes.

Mr Griffin added: “Last year we had the amazing sight of people walking the streets talking to each other about soup. It’s fantastic fun and the whole town really gets involved.”
