Robbery victim thrown into Kidderminster canal
2:45pm Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in News
A MAN involved in an altercation outside a Kidderminster nightclub was chased to a towpath where he was robbed and then thrown into a canal.
The incident began outside Tribe nightclub, Green Street, at about 3am on Sunday.
Two groups, totalling about 10 men, were in confrontation outside the nightclub and that led to one of the groups being chased from the scene by the other along Dixon Street, New Road and then through Tesco car park to the canal towpath.
A man in his early 20s was assaulted on the towpath by one of the group that had been chasing him and his friends. He was punched in the face and had his iPhone 4, worth £250, stolen before he was thrown into the canal.
Det Con Mark Wilding said: “It would appear one of the other members of the chasing group had an attack of conscience and pulled the man out of the water.
“The victim did not require medical attention but it almost goes without saying the consequences could have been a lot more serious.
“The offender is described as in his early 20s, of mixed race, about 5ft 11ins in height, with black hair and of medium build. He was wearing blue jeans and a grey jumper.
“We also want to identify the others and would ask anyone who witnessed any part of this incident or knows who was involved to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should call Det Con Wilding at Kidderminster CID on 101, quoting incident reference 139-S-300912, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

You either need the former or a good dose of the latter.

Seems hardly a week goes by where there isn't some sort of incident outside this place. Shouldn't the club be taking some responsibility for their customers actions.

Yet when trouble repeatedly erupts in the confined area around New Road Police presence is visibly lacking & the clubs concerned deny any responsibility. Perhaps a few bobbies either end of Green st. in the early hours might make the trouble makers think twice?

The night-time economy is important and closing down pubs and clubs is not the answer. My experience of door staff in Kiddy is good - they do stop drunk people entering and they do throw trouble makers out. They cannot be held responsible for robberies and violence on the streets.

Police enforcing the law and being visible at certain times (between midnight and 4am) would help.

ctive and officious at best, downright threatening at worst. At last count something like 18 "doormen" on duty in Kidderminster on a Saturday night - at what cost to law abiding drinkers and to what effect? Someone's security firm is making a mint from Kidderminster licensing requirements.

Remember readers, Reddo Robby and Red Flag Spam want this country to be drenched in socialism! Socialism means one thing and one thing only: redistribution of the misery whilst champagne socialists such as Blair and Broon count their millions! In the meantime, the law doesn't apply to the scum of New Labour's Britain!
New Labour, New Danger.
