Wyre Forest MP becomes carpet 'tzar'

WYRE Forest MP Mark Garnier has effectively become the ‘Carpet Tzar’ to champion the cause of an industry which is vital to Kidderminster’s prosperity.

He is setting up the Carpet All Party Parliamentary Group which will comprise all other MPs with carpet manufacturers in their constituencies.

He says: “Kidderminster is seen as the centre of excellence of the world carpet industry but until now local manufacturers have missed the opportunity to join together and speak as one voice.

“The new group can promote the industry in parliament and seek support from the government.”
