A BLAKEDOWN salon has boosted the wish of a Kidderminster girl who has battled cancer by raising spending money for her dream trip to America.
Stylists at The Salon Hair and Beauty, in Birmingham Road, collected £260 at a raffle for brave Macey Littleton, 11, who will be jetting off to Orlando, Florida, in January, after making a wish with the Make A Wish Foundation.
The cash raised was matched by local sheet metal firm Trueline and $810 was donated to Macey for her dream trip.
The Bewdley Primary School pupil spent eight months at Birmingham Children’s Hospital fighting a cancer so rare that doctors still do not know what it is.
Salon stylist Lloyd Baker said: “I’m really pleased with the amount we raised.
“I just wanted her to have an extra special time there. I don’t want here to want for anything while she’s out there.”
“She was like a child at Christmas when I gave her the dollars. She was really happy.
“She couldn’t believe that someone had done that for her. It was just lovely.
