Witness appeal after Stourport burglary

BURGLARS broke into a house in Stourport after climbing over a garden fence.

The thieves searched drawers and cupboards in the Stagborough Way property after breaking in through a back garage door and an inside door.

Police are still trying to establish what was stolen in the burglary, which happened between noon on Saturday and 9.30am yesterday.

PC Kate Medlam of West Mercia Police said: "We believe there were two offenders and that they climbed over the rear garden fence from Dewberry Close.

"We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen two people acting suspiciously in the area or anyone else with information, to contact us on the non emergency number 101 quoting incident 119-s-111012 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."

Last month, (September) West Mercia Police launched Citadel, aimed at driving down the number of burglaries committed in the force area.
