EXHIBITIONS at Kidderminster’s carpet museum will be “vibrant” and “colourful” to bring displays to life according to their designer.

Rosemary Allen, a museum designer and director for Headland Design, has been working on the project for a number of years and says a lot of development work has gone into the museum.

She said: “There was a lot of development work and plans produced then we went on to work out all the details so we have been working for a long time.

“We always thought the colours would be very important, bright jewell colours to show how beautiful and rich carpets can be. The colour and finish have all been a big part of creating the exhibitions so we can really show off the machines.

“We have incorporated a lot of films to show the industry, people’s stories, the life of weavers and how carpets are produced.”

Museum manager Paula Kovacs added: “We wanted the exhibitions to be vibrant. It is not just the machinery with the wow factor it is also the stories behind them.”
